August 16, 1997: Steve Martin replaces Ken Shine as South Sydney coach
Shine was to finish the season with Martin taking over in 1998.
On this day 25 years ago, South Sydney officials were preparing to announce that Steve Martin was the successful applicant for their coaching job in 1998, in preference to current boss Ken Shine.
