John Cross and Jack Elsegood are barred from joining their Super League clubs and must decide which ARL teams they will play for in 1997.
The draft was outlawed in rugby league during the 1980s but for Penrith signing John Cross and Canterbury recruit Jack Elsegood 25 years ago, it may as well have been in force.
Back rower Cross and winger Elsegood had ARL loyalty agreements but had signed with Super League clubs for the coming season.
